Things Behind the Sun by Berfin Boybey
I’m a visual design student, based in Istanbul, Turkey. I like to capture feelings and most of the time I share the same feelings with the people I shoot. I’ve always been an old fashioned person. It feels like I’m living in the past and I think that’s why I love analog photography. It reminds me of things that I forgot – like a perfume smell I’ve known before or a song that gave me a lot of emotions. As Aaron Siskind said: “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” Berfin Boybey
Words by Lina Erbek:
“It’s like waking up in the unknown. Realizing how unaware I was of so many things, like I rubbed my misty eyes and started to see clearly again. Oh, how I couldn’t see life, how I couldn’t live it, and how I thought I’ve learnt. What was in front of me was nothing, and how I already knew it.”
