Blue Devils by Marco Helena – On the Original Road
A trip on a soundtrack. From Tennessee to Louisiana, passing through the Mississippi, here is my crazy crossing in all its states. A horizontal vertigo under the night, analogous to the star-spangled banner spewing out its soul to those who covet it, to whom it begs it. Discovering blues and jazz, their origins in their libertarian tones and their vibrant poetry. It is the heart of the beating man, the rhythm and the color of the blues that are offered to us. One can hear these songs of innocence, their sadness and their disappointments on every street corner, in every club, at the turn of a cotton field striking the spirits of its history branded by slavery. Here, pours alcohol as the Mississippi flows. Such are blues and jazz, orgiastic symphonies, acts of resistance beaded with sweat,an incessant revolt at the American night celebrating the ephemeral and the life. Marco Helena
