Domestic Pleasures by Kara Vorabutr
My work is a documentation of daily interactions with light and objects in comparison to time, shapes, and happy accidents to make significant the joys of everyday life. Kara Vorabutr
Honing in on projective synesthesia for what I define as beauty is how I produces work. I deems my awareness creates a heavy connection between my origin (being a Thai-American) and the places I end up with, but it is in the feelings, movements, smells, and colours I see. My goal is to translate this idea of romanticism into my photographs through strangers, still lives and self portraits.
These photographs are an excerpt from my series called Domestic Pleasures, documenting the past five years under the sun and sleeping in different beds.
Kara Vorabutr is a photographer from Los Angeles.
