La Floraison by Natalia Tijean
This story was shot in the center of Moscow, in a place with an unique atmosphere. It reminds me of all the summers I have spent at my granny’s house, a house full of history with lots of treasures and vintage things. What I like most is paying attention to details – flea market tableware, one-of-a-kind vases and dried flowers. Natalia Tijean
But we are growing up and we are often too busy. Getting out of the city, at least for the weekend, becomes more difficult. On the main boulevard of Moscow there is a cozy place named Ziferburg, where you can relax, swing in a hammock and drink hot tea. The creators of this space tried to recreated a place from our childhood, where people laugh, play vinyls and read books.
Scandinavian minimalism might be a trend now but I’m happy we have places like this, filled with stories and memories.
I decided to call the series “La Floraison” for several reasons. Firstly, the series turned out to be floral – even Polina’s vintage dress is covered with flowers. Secondly, Polina really has the heart and soul of a French girl! She has been studying French for a long time and told me how excited she was about her trip to Paris. Last but not least, when I look at these photographs, they give me a wonderful feeling, like the one you get when you see blooming trees after a long winter.
