Moments by Loulou Bruna
For the past twelve months I’ve been taking analogue pictures of people in the streets of Utrecht and Paris, the former being my hometown and with the latter I have come to feel most at home like. All photos are mere attempts at capturing and thereby memorizing the split seconds during which people’s being – their presence and behaviour at a particular time and place – touched me. Connectedness between people particularly continues to intrigue me: a parent carrying a child; lovers holding hands or saying their final goodbyes; and those holding no one but themselves. The more of these moments I observed over time, the more I have come to appreciate how strangers can so unknowingly (and yet perfectly) be the creators of scenes like these. Loulou Bruna
Up until now, my photos constitute two overarching projects: ‘Hold On’ and ‘La Solitude’. I now feel ready to share these photos, and by doing so, I hope to share my appreciation for the people that I’ve captured.
