I Had a Dream Yesterday by Milena Pazos

I shot this series while I was on a trip with my closest friends to celebrate the end of high school. I wanted to explore teenagehood, its ending and the role friendship has in it. The constant search for identity and the introspection that is linked to that search are key aspects of this part of life, and that identity is certainly developed through relationships. Those bonds of trust are not only integral in finding oneself, but also a safe space in which to change and express freely.

At the end of that high school trip, we went to the mountains, to a little village where there are more trees and rocks than people. We woke up very early and went to bed very late at night. That place quickly became a shelter from the outside world. We laughed and we cried together, we built this little fortress of inner strength and trust to face the world better once we head back to the city and all of its societal norms.

On that trip, we finally felt free in our own bodies.
